I wouldn't put too much faith in a French catalog, particularly in regard to something like seatpost size. As I said earlier, 531 DB French bikes in the 70's came with 26.2, 26.4 and 26.6 in similar frequency. All three sizes could be found in a single model, like the Peugeot PX-10, the Motobecane Grand Record, or the Gitane Tour de France. Maybe even in the same year. I think it was the French from whom Emerson (or was it Thoreau) stole his line, "Consistency is the demon of little minds."
