strikes me this is a tad high for the bike.

I don't doubt Brian will chime in if he hears about this thread.

I'm sure it's a very nice bike, but 2-4K seems more like it, to me, solely because this is a simple Baylis. It would have taken him much less time to make a bike like this than something with fancier lugs and paint. Brian charges for time and difficulty. This frame would have been quicker and easier to build than the sort of thing you usually see from him.

So...that price is in the seller's head..it hasn't appreciated so much quite yet!

'course, the fact that you might have to wait awhile for a Baylis of any sort at this point may push the market value up.

Back in the 70s when Brian made a frame, didn't they usually sell for 300-500 bucks? That's my faint memory.
