Additional thoughts - the patina on this frameset appeals in a strange sort of way - maybe it is a consequence of the quality of the photographs which accompanied this auction.
My wife, who has only a mild interest in my bike hobby, was particularly taken by this set of photographs and even suggested that she would like to get these as high res. images and have them framed and put up somewhere in the house!!! What a woman!!!
Mind you, a set of prints would be as close as I will ever get to such a frame (and it was my perfect size) - especially at the latest selling price. That would likely blow my bike budget for the next twenty years!
