Subject: [CR]A Belated Introduction

Hello all,

I am a fairly new member to The List. I recently realized, with some chagrin , that although I have been a participant in

a few discussions on The List, I have not yet properly introduced myself.

My name is Chris Wimpey. I live in one of the world's best places, San Diego , California, United States of America.

Just why is this place so good? For one thing, I can ride a bike most days, even through winter.

Though it does get a bit cold, it's nowhere near the minus degrees commonly encountered by some

esteemed members of The List. It's rare to get out the foul weather gear.

My interest in bicycles is long standing, and over the years I've acquired a few interesting machines.

One of my favorites is a 1930's Maclean Featherweight with BSA components, i ncluding the crank and pedals.

It's a great bike, and fun to ride in it's current single speed configuratio n.

I'll put up some photographs of my rides in time, for now I have posted one of my more recent builds here:

I am enjoying the discourse and witty reparté on CR. It's great to see so much knowledge shared, and with such

good will. This avocation of ours is a lot of fun and seems to be kept in pr oper perspective by most of us.

After all, as Mr. Brian Bayliss said, "They're just bikes...". Or something like that.

OK, gotta go check on the Pope-cycle, see if my offer has been accepted yet. I think $2,500 is quite fair.

Best regards,

Chris Wimpey
