Subject: [CR]A visit to the Vigorelli

At Dale's request, a story of visiting Masi's shop in the Vigorelli in the early 80s. But it is not my story but my wife's. So a little introduction for her. When I first met Barbara, at the University of Montana, she told me of her Raleigh three speed she had at home in New Jersey. After we married I got an old Schwinn Sting Ray and together we completely refurbished and repainted it and sold it to a family in need of a bike. She was hooked. Soon after we moved to Fairbanks Alaska. She went into the first bike shop we came to and the haggled owner offered her a job on the spot after she indicated her interest. He had been working a full time job and trying to keep the shop open at the same time. She went on to manage a large bike shop for 6 years. She also is a State of Alaska road racing champ. In her stable is the Masi of the story, a Bob Jackson touring bike and bikes of other materials we won't talk about. So here is the link to her story in her own words: http://biciak.blogspot.com/
