Listers,
The second time and again, failure. This super-rare (and lik e there is only one in existence - like the hope Diamond). Failed to sell a t Ebay.
So.. I offer a super discounted price to listmembers here. $4 000.00 takes the bike, plus shipping. Payment by paypal is preferred, thoug h I'll take a check or Money Order with all the attendant caveats - like I won't ship till said check or M.O. clears.
This is the overheated auc tion copy: Frame is basically brand new (rode ten miles) parts are used a nd are by no means New Old Stock.
This is a rare one, folks. I'd call it a humpback whale if she wasn't so light and fleet...
As far a s I or the former owner knows this is the only Richard Sachs aero tubed bik e. I await the vitriol.
In any case, It may not be the only... but th ere certainly are few of these kicking around.
Details as follows:
Filet brazed Richard Sachs frame made with Tange Aero tubing. All tubes are ovalized or shaped for maximum aerodynamic effect that just looks downr ight awesome when you glance down at the frame as you ride. This effect is highlighted by the deep black of the Joe Bell paint job unsullied by time. 54.5cm c/t seat tube and 55cm c/c top tube.
Dura Ace AX groupo. The st andard bearer for overachieving misfits everywhere. At the time of the intr oduction of this group Shimano was the awkward stumbling adolescent that wo uld later become the Juggernaut we know today. Like a prodigy, flashes of g enius could be seen in what seemed to be idiosyncratic output. Thus this bi ke sports the massive oversize pedal thread that defined its own standard. I have no idea what the threading is actually called, Chances are your loca l wrench doesn't. It's that unique. The brakes on this group are a work of art. Little junior centerpulls all tucked into themselves for maximum aerod ynamic efficiency. The parts are used. Cranks are 172.5 and the chainrings are 52/42. She's a seven speed.
Cinelli stem and Nitto bars with VIP style leather sew up grips and handmade custom leather brake hoods. Yup.
Concor saddle.
The bike is as nice as they come. Too nice for th e owner, for whom this bike was built, to have ridden it much. We suspect t hat she's maybe gone ten miles in her life. A bike this rare... a wallhange r or a rider? If you win this auction you\u2019ll have to make that terrible c hoice...
You can see the bike here: http://ebay.com/
In terms of provenance, proven through this t
hread on the Serotta forums: http://www.serotta.com/
So, 1000 dollars off for a frame of a lifetime, parts thrown in free.
