I had the same debate with myself on My Benotto "Sunday in Hell" redux. So I tried a little experiment. I took run of the mill white athletic tape and wrapped the bars first, then I took white Benotto tape and wrapped it over it. I like the outcome because it take the silver sheen from the handle bars out of the mix. It also takes out that little dip out in between the Benotto end cap and the handlebar itself. Give it a whirl.
Yeah I know the mental gymnastics we gents go thru to make bikes look....sigh.
