Sometimes you get lucky, even on ebay. I bought a mid-80s Cinelli with SLX tubing and a full Campy Record 10 kit on ebay a couple of years ago for $800. The seller didn't know what he had, and I guess the other buyers were asleep at the switch. It was in near flawless shape too, rather surprising for a bike that was more than 20 years old.

It *was* dirty, but it cleaned up very nicely.

Dirt can be your friend, by the way. I bought a set of lightweight racing wheels for my Audi that were dirty. The four wheels cost me what one should have...I guess because they were dirty. They cleaned up nicely too, looked virtually new!
