Subject: [CR]Grand Bois traditional looking clinchers for your Vintage Lightweight - Thanks Jan Heine!

I was trying to find decent looking clinchers in the last year and finally found the perfect clinchers for my Eisentrauts.

The Grand Bois 700c clinchers tires look very similiar to the Clements I ho ld as the gold standards from the mid-70's mounted up on my Mavic MA-2's t hey look the part of a Clement Criterium or Paris Roubaix. I have now ridd en two of their widths and have a suggestion to the manufacturer...

The 30mm version is really a 31mm on an my MA-2, great tires but just a bit big to fit under my Honjos given my decent amount of fender space.

The 26mm version measures 24mm on my MA-2 at 90 psi. That's just a bit too small for good comfort.

There is a 28mm version but that measures 29mm, again a bit too plump.

I'd like to suggest Grand Bois take the current "26mm" and redesignated it as an actual 24mm tire since that is what it is.

THEN, pop a new model in the 26/27mm gap to compete againt the Rolly Polly from Rivendell (the RP I think is OK but sluggish and has a bizzare non-tra ditional tread look) which looks out of place on a classic Lightweight in m y humble snobbish opinion.

If this were to happen Grand Bois would have a tire in every range. I thin k the NEW proposed real 26/27mm would be the New Paris Roubaix which would be a good thing for our hobby.

Just a suggestion but you should give these Grand Bois tires a chance, they are AWESOME. Jan has done us a HUGE favor by bringing these tires to mark et here in the States.

If you want to see the Grand Bois tires on my bike search for my name in th e "Wool Jersey Gallery" site.
