I grew up in a small midwestern town as well and that book was all we

had. I committed it to memory before buying my first ten speed. Talk about timing, publishing that book in 1970 just months before a tsuna mi wave of bike buying hit the United States. I moved all the c omponents from one frame to another using my dad's toolbox and that bo ok.

I still keep two editions of his book on the bookshelf in my basement single fixture reading room.
