I have what I believe to be a complete and original 1973 Pogliaghi serial # D 882. I have owned the bike for 19 years and have put maybe 100 miles on it. It has been hanging in a garage for the past 13 years. The only thing I ever changed on the bike was the handelbar tape. It has the full Campagnolo N.R. components w/ "PATENT-73" on rear derailer. The saddle is a Brooks Professional with a Made in England 73 stamp. I think the N.R. crankset will be key to the age of the bike as it is engraved with the Italcorse symbol that also appears on the bikes front decal and the seat tube decal. The back of the crank arms have no date marking, only "172.5 STRADA". In my research I have only come upon 2-3 "D" serial # bikes. The dates claimed range from 1973 to 1976. My bike appears to be identical to this bike: http://www.theracingbicycle.com/Pogliaghi_76.html but w/ N.R. components and metallic orange paint.
