This is interesting info! My understanding (which apparently is wrong according to this post), is that what I think of as the playing card style was not available until 1970 or so. When exactly did the playing card style graphics originate? On the CR Colnago site I see a 1971 which has what I call the playing card graphics. For some reason, I have no idea why at this point, I thought it came about as early as the late 1960's (which must be wrong). Is it possible that we could get a sneak peak at what the earlier graphics of 1968 and 1969 look like?

> Hi Crew,
\r?\n> I have finally completed an exhausting research project of mine into the
\r?\n> actual design of the pre 1970 Colnago Super graphics. That is, pre
\r?\n> 'playing card' style. They appeared to be a forgotten period of Colnago
\r?\n> production. These decals are for the Supers with the drilled round hole
\r?\n> type BB shell and non engraved fork crowns. This is the result of the
\r?\n> power of the internet, help from luminaries of the CR list, plus other
\r?\n> personal connections and networking around the globe. The design carries
\r?\n> legacies from the early 60s style Colnago graphics and preview some
\r?\n> aspects of what came later in the 70s. Certain aspects of these are
\r?\n> totally unique in style...and I have studied a lot of decals!!
\r?\n> These have been digitalised and are about to be printed. Two
\r?\n> color/designs will be available and I know of only six of these frames
\r?\n> from the years 1968 and 1969. Two are in Australia, one in Italy, one in
\r?\n> New Zealand and two in the US. Any more of these frames in existance
\r?\n> would be of great interest to us collectors of this period of Colnago
\r?\n> history.
\r?\n> I am trying to find paint colors now. One frame in Oz was originally off
\r?\n> white, in NZ was an orange yellow, in Italy was a 'Ducati' yellow and
\r?\n> not sure about the US frames. Any information would be welcome as it
\r?\n> seems that all records and graphic images during this period were
\r?\n> focused upon the team bikes, not the ones that were available to the
\r?\n> public.
