There were complaints a week or so ago that I did have so many English frames and parts up as I used to. Hopefully this week the six English frames will be of interest - there are two very nice fancy lugged frames - a Hobbs Superbe in poor original finish - those who were at the Cirque last year for my talk may remember that the Hobbs Superbe was the first of the fancy lug designs in England dating back to 1936. Second fancy lugged frame is a Holdsworth Cyclone - this needs total renovation but look beyond the heavily chipped paint at the quality of the lugs. In England there's often been some snobbery regarding Holdsworth frames - Holdsworth started off as a clothing retailer but it must not be forgotten that some of the very best British framebuilders worked at Holdsworths in the 1940s and 50s - Bill Hurlow and old man Charlie Roberts... Also of interest is an early Claud Butler from 1935, a gorgeous 60s Johnny Berry track frame and an early 70s Raleigh track frame. Italian bike fans have not been forgotten - an almost mint Moser Leader AX, a Tommasini Super Prestige, an early 80s Masi Prestige and a Corcorde in Stars and Stripes which surprisingly did not sell a couple of weeks ago. There's plenty to look at amongst the parts for both English and Italian enthusiasts too.
