Selle Italia first came out with the seat covers, and then, later several other manufacturers seemed to have them. They were designed to protect your seat in travel, not for riding, and I always got a chuckle when I saw some knucklehead riding on one (smirk!). The 'croakies' are still available at a lot of surf shops/sporting goods stores, etc. Dean Patterson

Yes, I had a yellow 'Selle Italia Turbo' seat cover hiding a San Marco Regal saddle on the on-topic commuter/trainer bike in the late 1980's. The cover has long gone (perished), but the Regal still lives on my (KOF) 1986 Fellini (Technotrat).
