I think you mean S-6. S-5 is the Schwinn town and Country Tandem size,
nominally 26x1-1/2
S-6 used the EA-1 diameter and then made them 1x3/8 instead of 1-1/4 for
their "lightweight" bikes as a counter to the EA-3 so the tires wouldn't be
interchangeable.
Those in the bike game who knew this bought nice EA-1's and put them on th
Schwinn S-6 size and got away from Schwinn's higher price.
