I'm looking at those photos and comparing them to ones I've saved from earlier Dural Forge auctions that didn't go near so high and not seeing it either. I suspect that in many cases the people who may know the subtleties differentiating the rarest items may prefer not to share that information onlist as that might expand the pool of knowledgeable potential bidders and they might prefer not having to compete against them. I once asked in reply to a Confente auction when someone had commented that the seat cluster treatment was key in IDing Confentes, what the distinctive trait of real Confente seatclusters was and recieved two answers- both offlist. I believe the information was never shared with the list. I suspect there's a pool of esoteric information on some of the rarer and more sought after items within the scope of the list that is kept guarded for similar reasons.

For those of us who do not know the finer points of French components, could someone explain what is so special about these brakes? Ebay listing number is 320241161876, ad says "rarest model" Thanks
