Subject: [CR]"Moser" Track Bike on eBay

e Bay #110247431456 Its design and decals on this bike demonstrate that this De Rosa is from the 1983/early 1984 period. I have examined every Bicisport Magazine from the period 1983-1984 and find no connection whatsoever between Moser and De Rosa during that time. The decoration of the bike shown on eBay is that of Team Sammontana. Moser did not belong to that team. Moser and de Rosa were connected only in the 1970's. Moser, who is featured in numerous articles, ads and photos in the period 1983-84, was racing for Gelati GIS, a competing team. He's always shown on Moser branded bikes-never on a De Rosa. In fact, Bicisport October 1984 has a two page Moser ad featuring many Moser bikes and his "funny" bike. The Moser factory address was Via Bolzano, 43, Gardolo de Trento. During those years Moser first appears on a track bike with mild aero bars and a "standard" type track frame. Later there are articles and photos showing his transition to the track type "funny" bike which he used in his hour record ride and for which he's so well-known. Incidently, I can eMail a website of yet another dealer to anyone looking for several other Moser bikes also allegedly owned by Moser.
