There is a variety of threading, and much of it is French. Eibar, where Zeus was located, is very near the French border. I'm guessing most Zeus stuff produced for the Spanish market was French thread, with English thread made for export only, much of it to the US, or maybe components to UK where Ron Kitching was a big Zeus importer. I've seen and own enough French threaded Zeus stuff to be convinced that Zeus probably held out with French thread in the home market as long and many French manufacturers did. I've personally never seen much Italian threaded Zeus stuff, with the exception that they did make Italian BB's, and indeed there is a an Italian threaded Zeus 2000 BB in my all-2000 1981 ALAN Super Record. Not sure if they ever made Italian threaded hubs or headsets, I'm guessing not.

Zeus seaposts were often 26.2 or 26.6 for French gauge tubing, but there are also a lot of 26.8 or 27.2, probably for export, and 27.0 isn't that rare.

T'other day, someone, out of the blue asked me about correct diameter for the seat pin and also what the threading is on the bb shell.

The inquisitor wanted to assume 27.2 and Brit bb threading.

I honestly couldn't remember what Zeus used; although, from my vague sense of CR list discussion I think there were a variety of diameters and bb threadings (even including French bb's and even hubs).

Any opinions ?

Thank you.
