Hi All list member,

My wife put a Cinelli handle bar that I had a while, I thought it was for track/pista use, because upper turns are so straight, dropp off quickly from stem where I could not hold "above" brake lever, but here the high bidder wanted to cancel his winnning bid. Item #260233311099

What are various name-shape of Cinelli bars?

<< I placed a rather high max bid on this auction, only to find out that the bars are criteriums and not true track bars. Because of the misleading auction title, I would like to cancel this winning bid and you could give the next highest bidder a second chance offer.>>

Ken:

I am not a Cinelli expert, but I play one on TV.

I see many, many Criterium bars advertised as track bars on eBay. In fact, almost all of them are described that way. They are not technically track bars, though (although you can certainly use one for any purpose you wish).

The models I am aware of are:

Model 63: Campione del Mondo (less drop than the more typical Model 66) Model 64: Giro d'Italia (less drop than the Model 63, by far the most common Cinelli bars) Model 65: Criterium Model 66: Campione del Mondo Model 67: Pista (track)

On the early logo (Milano crest) bars the model number is almost always stamped into the drive-side end of the bar (except on Sheldon-style left-side-drive fixed-gear bikes). Width is measured center-to-center for Cinelli bars. Pista bars were available in 39 cm. only, I think. The others were typically 38, 40, sometimes also 42, 44 cm. in rare cases.
