Sorry for the off-topic post; this is a public service announcement for the Ride of Silence, an all-volunteer-run global effort to honor and memorialize fallen/ injured bicyclists around the world. In 2007 there were over 300 cities around the world participating; please consider hosting an event in your town/ city. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just decide on a start/ finish, ride 8-12 miles in silence on May 21st at 7 pm (your time).
Please visit the web site (http://www.rideofsilence.org) for resources; see the Public Service Announcement filmed at Dallas' White Rock Lake event (http://www.rideofsilence.org/ROS_2008_PSA), the blog (http://rideofsilence.blogspot.com - new this year), or see the new memorial page map (http://www.rideofsilence.org/memoriam-map.php - new today).
Thanks for considering honoring those who've fallen or have been injured by motorists in your area,
Tim
Full disclosure: I am the interim volunteer web-lackey for the RoS organization.
