Dont let them put you off. Ive the 200k twice in the last two years on 23mm tubs, and there are plenty of riders using them, especially older italians on on older italian bikes :)

Both times I used cheap Vittoria Kevlar tyres, because I'm a cheapskate and I figured I'd end up throwing them away if they puntured. Last year I got nervous and added the flataway stuff that goes inside, but I don think it made any difference. I was also worried about the spare coming off, so tub purists may not approve of the fact that I was carrying tape rather than glue (tufo extreme always works for me, although I saw others using velox).

I bet you are:) I'd love to ride it on a paris roubaix or cambio corsa. Ive never seen so many in one place before, and I get a kick out of just watching them ride.

Look forward to seeing you there if I can decide what to bring this year (with tubs, naturally..)
