Probably earlier. Long before "Nuovo" Record, Campagnolo made a 130mm (5-1/8") seatpost. In the catalogs of the fifties and sixties, they referred to the 130mm post as "normale." The 180mm post was "lungo." Incidentally, the unfluted post itself was not referred to as Nuovo Record until the 1982 Olympic catalog. It was always just Record.
