The Puma "shotput" shoes are a good compromise for moderate riding with of f bike activities. They are nice looking (I think), resonably priced ($65) and have a profile that allows them to fit easily into cliped pedals.

They are a bit softer underfoot than a bike specific "touring" shoe, but al so walk better. This is compared to my Nike Velo shoes that have a stiffene r under the ball of the foot.
