Scratch X has become one of my favorite products. I use it to remove oxidation and light scratches in old finishes. It leaves a smooth surface with a nice shine. If scratches or blemishes are more severe, rubbing lightly with rubbing compound followed by Scratch X will work well. Since all of these products are abrasive a light touch is required. If you are polishing a clear coat and and paint color appears on the cloth it's time to back off.
Scratch X also works well as a final buffing step on non anodized aluminum. Follow with Meguiar's aluminum polish...more cost effective than Simichrome.
