I just did a quick search for Airfares to IAD(DULLES) and am surprised that there are very affordable rates still around even using Travelocity (who is not always the cheapest)
* LAX to IAD $316 * SEA to IAD $396 * SFO to IAD $366 (as little as $206 with stops!!) * PDX to IAD $317 * DFW to IAD $399 * LHR to IAD $795 (with similar rates from other EU cities)
This is for Thursday arrival and Monday departures In the past when it got this close I remember $600 rt rates
