who says the vintage bike market is soft???

You got the bling, they got the lucre..

In all seriousness, I suspect the vintage bike market is just evolving to where mature niche-interest markets have always been, the rare, the unusual, the weird, and the rare-but-in-demand stuff, will always command a premium. Everything else will be reasonably priced. I keep thinking about Grandis in this connection. The guy made beautiful bikes in the 70s and 80s, every bit as nice, or nicer, than a Colnago Super, or Masi, or Cinelli, or De Rosa of the CR period..a lot of hand-work a nice details. But they sell for nothing, comparatively.
