I just picked up this beautiful Ron Stout race frame that was built for Hoppy Lillien to ride in the Montreal Worlds.
Just the style I like for a road frame, minimal braze-on's, thin lugs, fastback seat-stays, nutted brakes, and flat crown fork. The perriwinkle blue (I think that's what it is?) is rather cool as well.
But, about four sizes too small for me. I know it's a long shot but before I put it on ebay I thought I would check if anyone here had anything they would like to trade for it.
I'd be interested in a 54cm center to TOP road or track frame from the mid 70's or earlier, way earlier is ok as I've been bitten by the pre-war track bug lately. For road stuff I prefer a US custom or Italian.
Even if you don't have a trade, check out the pics, it's a very pretty frame.
Ron Stout details:
Seat-tube 48cm c-c or about 50cm c-t Top-tube 50cm c-c Standover with 700x22: 29.5 inches Weight 5lbs. 6oz. with headset cups Tubing Columbus SL BB English Includes excellent 70's Dura Ace headset Serial number: 6327
Condition is excellent, typical small scratches and mars left from the clamp-on cable guides, shifters, and front der. One decent size scratch on the fork leg, and paint missing around the drop-outs, some cracks in the paint around the bottle bosses (although the frame work is really nice the paint is rather thick). It will build up into a very presentable bike.
