Dear List, I'm not able to make Cirque, or I would have waited to offer it there, but instead it goes on Ebay. I looked on the archives to learn a bit about the Alpine marque, and I think I got it pretty accurate in my auction listing as a result. My Alpine appears to be one of the 1970s imports from various European builders, and re-labeled as "Alpine Cycles, Washington D.C." by the folks at Georgetown Cycle Sports in the 1970s. I do not believe mine is a Fred Kelly-built Alpine. My frame has the nubers "3846" stamped in the BB shell.
If anyone would like to share anything they know about the history of http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160243488292Alpine on or off list, please feel free. It was discussed a bit last year, I think.
If anyone would like a beautiful pale green full 531 NOS 58cm frame, go to the auction:
If that link doesn't work, just search Alpine, or try item number 160243488292. I am known on ebay as barconshifter.
If the winner is from the CR list, please let me know and I'll find a way to sweeten the deal for you.
Thanks, Caleb Hawley
