hi,
a garage-sailing friend who is new to classic bikes scored a really pretty set of these rims on early phil hubs. i am encouraging him to use them on an early-'70s raleigh pro frame that he also scored at a yard sale.
the rims have a distinct lack of hook for the tire bead, and i have no experience with that, nor do i own any 27" wheels so i'm not up on tires in that size.
can anyone using these rims recommend a current-production tire that would be safe to use and is available in 27"? traditional appearance preferred.
