Dear Mr. Lowi,

Well, if it is such a possible problem then perhaps someone should tell poor old Mr. Nagasawa !

My Gosh ! - he's been building frames for all these DECADES for top-level competitors and world champions and the ignorant old FOOL must have never realized this !

Thank heavens that someone on-the-ball from the good-old Classic Rendezous list is around to edumacate him about the terrible contribution to frame flex his slotted bottom brackets must be causing. Y'know the Japanese obviously don't know much about bikes in general, and track bikes in particular (do they even have any velodromes or track racing over there at all ?)- so don't waste any valuable time ! Mr. Nagasawa - san is nowadays in his early-sixties and since he'll probably be retiring soon it is of the UTMOST importance that he find out your expert concerns so he can revise his whippy bottom bracket shells before he loses his OBVIOUSLY undeserved reputation.

Nagasawa's address is : Nagasawa Racing Cycle 1-5-5 Tanabe, Kashiwara, Osaka, Japan

Please Emanuel - write him as soon as you can to express your concerns !

I'm sure he needs a laugh as much as the next guy !!! <G!!>

I see that Nagasawas, in particular, but also some Raleighs, featured BB shells that are slotted as many as 3-8 times, road as well as track frames.

Is there a down side to this -- does anyone believe that with a cast shell this results in noticeable flexibility?

Would like to read comments from Nagasawa owners in particular, but any riders of significantly cut BB shell bikes are good too..
