Subject: [CR]Aquila genealogy

Oh fellow wise ones, I need help tracing the genealogy of this bike, the year it was made, where it was made, and if at all possible the name of the actual frame builder.

I purchased the bike a couple of months ago from an antique car collector who in turn got it as part of one of his car purchases. He's not a cyclist and neither was the fellow whom he got the bike from, apparently. The frame appears to be well built, to my novice eye at least. There are no markings such as serial number or date on the frame, including the underside of the bottom bracket shell. Other than some really crappy decals the only permanent identifying mark appears to be the chromed fork crown with a capital letter "A" cast into it.

Except for a Shimano headset, alll the components are Campagnolo Super Record. It also has Campagnolo front and rear dropouts. Currently the bike is at the shop getting replacement bearings for the bottom bracket. You can see pictures of the bike in my Photobucket album under Aquila: http://photobucket.com/chilerosbikes

I don't know if it is appropriate to mention this here but I am selling vintage De Rosa and a Pinarello frame sets as well as a complete Trek 760 from 1985 which also appear in my album. They'll be listed in CL later this week.

Thanks in advance for your help.
