Just wanted to thank everybody who replied to my question, I received lots of good info, which hopefully will allow me to not make a mess of it.
Re the rarity or not of Tressostar tape etc - problem is, the few rolls I want to use are green - and last time I checked, I could not find Tressostar or other cloth tape in that color anywhere including Velo Orange. Hence the agony :)
