Don brings up an interesting point of discussion. The V-GT was Cheap($5.00 wholesale), light , very capable and extremely durable. I have a couple on bikes and can attest to their ruggedness unlike the Cyclone GT which though quite beautiful ,often failed when the spring controlling chain tension failed (anyone ever come up with a work around for that?) The VX series was just a refined version of 'old trusty' but did feature not only a short and long cage version but also a 'tweener' for those running 26-28 tooth freewheels. If you havent taken a look at the Tandem Don pointed out you should as it still sports old style decals and the rear dropouts are not modified but the derailleur is mounted by reversing the derailleur mount (nice non butcher solution) Quite nice bike over all if you and you partner can swing a leg over a 23 1/2 frame.
