On the subject Harry Travis concluded in his PS:-
PS: Or even someone distant and good. If Hilary Stone recommends thatBristo l firm for doing among the best restorations in England, can therebe any doubt of the quality of their work, mechanically andaesthetically, in c onstructing new bikes? (Or bravo to Hilary foradvocating for local-to-him q uality he can everyday visit and confirm.)
At the time this view was expressed during the last few days I have to disagree with the original recommendation stating a Bristol firm was the best in England. Personally I would never recommend any contact of mine to use their services after the two instances of inferior workmanship by this firm. Not only did their workmanship not come up to good standard but they refused to concede they were fault and offered no help to try and overcome their errors. In spite of been in dispute at their failure my goods were with held until I paid up for the work done.
Their are many excellent restorers in the UK and to pick out just one
firm is unfair to those others striving to build up a reputation and costs
to suit everyman's pocket. Needles to say I have never returned to the
firm in question but I found others whom I can trust to carry out my
work without any cause for criticism and at a more affordable cost!
