You're probably right -- it was probably a house brand or private label applied in such small numbers that no mention of it ever reached the Net, even in "used bikes for sale" classified ads. I wonder if the tire size is going to end up being something as mundane as 650B -- hardly exotic for a Continental bike of that era, but something most bike stores wouldn't have in stock (at least not here in the States).
