Try inserting the pin in the opposite direction to what you were trying ini
tially. That should resolve the issue. Also, you can file the pin to chan
ge the angle of the taper so the pin will fit beter. var makes a special vi
ce that cradles the pin and allows you to file the shape smoothly. For best
fit, use a park cotter pin press to both remove and install the pins.
