Offered here to the CR List first, or else it goes to Ebay.

FS: Early to mid 1980s "DeRosa blue" frame and fork Seat tube is 61.5cm c-c, or 63cm to top of top tube, which is 59cm. 126mm rear spacing, requires 27.2mm post, recessed Allen brake mounts, Italian threaded headset and b.b. The chain stays have the famous diamond section shape (which becomes round again at the fitting ends), and there is no chain stay bridge. The front derailleur cable travels through a hold in a small stabilizing flange on the back side of the b.b. shell. Stamp under the b.b. shell is simply "72", with "63" on the steer tube, which I presume to represent the c-t seat tube size.

Flat top fork crown, Campagnolo dropouts in rear, yet DeRosa labeled fork tips. This has all the typical fittings for an earlier 80s model, with brazed on bits for shifters, tt brake cable guides, under b.b. der. cable guides, and front derailleur. However, it also has TWO sets of water bottle bosses, the second set located on the seat tube. Interestingly, the seat tube is made with SLX, but the down tube appears to be "rifle-less", standard SL or perhaps SP? I understand that Ugo's shop produced earlier sets like this for distributors that ordered them that way.

This set is done in that beautiful DeRosa blue, but lived most of its life in Hawaii, and has faded a bit from sun exposure. The salt air wreaked a bit of havoc on the poorly or non-chromed Campy steel parts, and rust STAINS FROM THE CAMPY BITS can be seen on the dropouts, and in other places where things were attached. This is surface staining only, and will not show when built up ... of course you have to keep the same wheel placement in the rear though. There are also plenty of little paint chips throughout, as expected of a 25 year old bike. The old ones show surface oxidation only (nothing structural), and the new ones shill show the white looking primer. There are also a couple of tiny spots where the paint is beginning to bubble from moisture getting underneath, but this is very minor. There were little flakes of surface rust inside the tubes near the b.b. shell, but none of it is structural, and it all scraped away quite cleanly (what I could reach with my poor host of tools). This item has been FULLY and THOROUGHLY cleaned, so what you see is what you will get.

More importantly, this bike was once poorly packed for shipment form Hawaii to Detroit, and suffered some loss of paint and a few tiny little dings on the front of the seat tube, from the fork crown making contact there. You can't see the dents ... just the loss of paint, but you can feel them. Therefore, it will be necessary to fill these in prior to refinishing, to make it all disappear.

Includes original Campagnolo seat binder bolt, and wheel stop screws in the rear drops, but the non-drive side has had the extension and knurled end nut, broken off.

Also available to the buyer is the original Super Record headset with excellent insides, and typically lightly nicked outsides, with light tooling marks. Frame buyer has the option to buy the headset for an additional $60, or have it removed before shipment. Pics of the headset are readily available upon request.

I am asking $500, plus $25 for shipping to the continental US, or actual shipping overseas or out of the country. Shipments to Canada remain close in cost to those traveling to US destinations, so the actual price shouldn't be too bad.
