There was an S below the SE and another model between the SE and Vent Noir. The SE used straight guage tubing made by the Steyr-Daimler-Puch enterprise. It is better and thinner tubing than most "gas pipe" and the bikes have a decent ride. Actually, these SE bikes were decently equipped with well selected cheap European parts. The small frames have long top tubes and do not suit all riders.
