I have been lurking on the listy for a while, but would like to introduce myself. My name is Neal Pipes of Denton TX, Usa. Though I have a great interest in "older" bicycles I am not a collector, and probably will never be as informed as much of you are. Recently I purchased an Olmo with S/N for purely sentimental reasons. The bike is not in original paint as it came in Bianchi green with some minor scrapes and the paint seems to scratch very easily and reveal what appears to be a chromed frame. It is equipped with Campi Brev? crank and Campi record parts throughout.
The purpose of this post is that it came with Campi stickered / Mavic 310 stickered tubular rims on Campi hubs with some what dry rotted tubulars. The wheels are in excellent shape and seem quite true. No major mars but the Mavisc stickers are starting to peel and fade.
As I am much more interested in light touring and about town riding I am looking to trade these for 700c or 27" decent wheels and would really like to get a Brooks (or clone) seat. I am on a very set budget and do not know what the Campi wheels are worth (nor care), I got my value out of the rest of the bike, so I thought that you guys would be more likely to want to trade than argue about $$$.
