Tom, the Superior your are talking about was the first (or maybe second) recycling of the Superior name to use up leftover tubing and lugs bought for Paramounts when Paramount production was stopped or moved in the early 80's. The Superior Jesse is talking about is probably the original fillet brazed Paramount made from before WWII until the late 70's, but with a gap in the late 60's/early 70's. These did indeed have Huret DO's. My 1962 Supoerior has a Huret Allvit RD. But my 1973 Sports Tourer, which also used Huret DO's, has a Shimano Crane GS RD. I don't see anything special about the Crane that would tell me it is a version made specifically for Huret DO's. So maybe a Crane, or a Titlist, which was a slightly less expensive version of the same design, would work for Jesse.

Based on the picture I can't tell you much about that particular Superior. Those that I have seen, and I had three of them, were all orange. The main triangle was Reynolds 531 and they had Nervex lugs. The rear drop-outs were Campagnolo with eyelets. Also so far as I know, they only made them in one, or perhaps two years, and your date of 1976 sounds about right. They came fully equipped with Campagnolo Gran Sport components: brakes, crank, derailleurs, shifters, headset and bottom bracket. I think their nickname was "Baby Paramounts."

Have fun building it up.

Cheers.
