I won't comment on the Derosa,
But back in the early 70's we used to bend our own skewers and sometimes
shift levers into gentle curve.

We did this in addition to drilling lightening holes etc. These sort of
touches made our custom bikes that much more special.
I was often asked to bend skewers for friends bikes.
