After losing my Dad last month, now Norman, thinking about this "greatest generation" and how wonderful these folks have been to know... Well, it is a very touching thing. We will miss them so much and I am so thankful to have had this generation to teach me...

You bet Dale. If it wasn't for Ian and that article in Bicycling almost 40 years ago, I probably would have never thought about what one could do on a bike let alone what kind of bike was needed. My love affair with English bikes started with a Taylor sitting on the floor of Bud's Bike Shop in SoCal in 1970. Everybody was gawking at it and I wanted to know what all the hoopla was about. That led to an earful of learning. Even though they leave a legacy, their going leaves a void you know will never be filled again.
