Yes, Losa is a marque name, located in Italy. They are a large contract builder for at least one big name ... Guerciotti. It is known that Losa did a lot of later 70s Guerciottis, and I have suspected that they built the early 70s frames too. In addition, I suspect them to be the builder behind Magni bikes, especially the 1970s models. This is because some of the lug windows and cutouts seem to be stacked up just TOO similarly, or with just a twist on the same theme. They use a lot of circular and teardrop shaped cutouts, in a lot of interesting places, in addition to a very specific, almost logo looking shape (perhaps depicting the form of a cyclist?).

Here are pics of an early-mid 70s bike that was home decaled in California by Fred Ferrari for his wife Irene, and I believe it to be Losa built. http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/fujifish1/MarksVintage/Ferrari_Fixed/

The frame is now in the hands of California CR member, John Waner. The era is different, but you can clearly see pics showing that specific shape, mixed in with circles and teardrops. Can anyone comment if that window work is done in-house, or if the lugs were produced and purchased that way? By the way, the large relief cut-outs under the b.b. shell are identical to those of early-mid 70s Guerciotti frames. I traded that Ferrari to John for a late 1960s Ives, also from Italy, and also believed by me to be made by Losa. I don't have pics posted, but can produce some quick shots if anyone is interested.

Anyone ever hear of a "LOSA"??? I don't know if that's the maker or the model.?? I'm considering a frame my size that has Columbus tubing, chrome fork, chrome stays, Campy dropouts, and Italian threaded BB.? The frame has brazons for shifters and FD.
