Actually a full size bike box, 53" x 29" x 8" is 127" not 80". Girth is height x 2 + width x 2 + length.

If you are shipping overseas from the US max girth for most countries via Priority mail is 108", some like countries Australia are 89". If you are over these limits you have to go express which is very expensive.

There's a big jump for domestic carriers over 130" as well.

Get the right box and check it before you pack!
