Subject: [CR]nutted brake recessed frame hole infill solution

''hello,

I recently purchased a condor frame and fork that someone drilled to take recessed-mount brakes.

Does anyone know of an off-the-shelf bushing to take up the slack between the brake bolt and the enlarged hole so i can use nutted brakes on this frame?

or is there some other way of dealing with this?

thanks, randy dugan van nuys, ca use's

Rivendell sells a plastic sleeve to fill a recessed brake frame hole so a normal nutted brake can be used. It tended to compress on me and the brake would loosen just a very little. But it worked OK but hard to center brakes pads on rim. I used what next? Oh yes I got a SS lock washer that fit in the recessed hole and brake bolt could go thru. Most SS lock washers have an outer diameter same has bolt head for a recessed bolt which is the diameter of the recessed hole. One can just use a washer that is bigger in diameter than the recessed hole. However I found some play in brake which no matter how hard I tighten was still there.
