Thanks to Ken for scheduling the lovely weather for his ride, or actually scheduling the ride on short notice to take advantage of the spectacular weather. A nice crowd came with Wayne Bingham, Harvey Sachs, Bill Hale, me, Tom Witkop with a friend, a couple of cyclocross racers, Cindy and ? (I'm too terrible with names), Peter Kohler as always in perfect kit, Ken of course, and I'm sure I'm leaving at least someone else out.

The ride was along Rock Creek Park on the North side of DC, with many sections closed to traffic, a little climbing, but great for the few of us riding fixed. It was a ride what you brung event with an eclectic mix of road iron, a perfect day for stretching the legs.

Back again, Ken and Betsy had a lavish spread. A lot of wonderful food and you'd think all those riders hadn't eaten all day! With the latest Cirque promoter Wayne (MJ couldn't make it. She was riding ... horseback) in attendance, of course the talk came around to reminiscing and discussing the future event.

These events always seem to break up too quickly as it became time to head home. Thanks again to Ken and Betsy for a wonderful reason to get together.

Happy trails,
