This is a treat to be able to download this splendid film, my second favourite cycling film next to the '64 London-Holyhead race. Truly a lost era of cycles, cycling and indeed Britain. Although it's easier to recreate the first two as the VC-C do so often. And as a defiant non-driver, it's doubly wonderful that it's railway to cycle to railway and nary a motorcar in sight. Or needed. Bliss!
And what a mix of cycles! Still a lot of SA hub gears in evidence, dynohubs and, of course, everyone has mudguards for going through those fords. And some real veterans on the road, both cyclists and cycles. I like the idea of different sections based on intensity of the cycling and route. I wonder if anyone has the routes from this? And having been to Rugby more than once, tis lovely countryside indeed. Even the station hasn't changed much.
Anyway, thanks Nic for this "secret" link. Now I can listen to this, get out the Simichrome and give the Conloy Asps on my 1948 RRA a good going over. Simichrome and Hinduminium go together like "new potatoes and the smell of mint".
