Better yet, a pair of Gen-you-wine Peter Salisbury handmade cycling shoes! I had two pair made for me back in 1982 after my visit to the UK, racing and touring. Unfortunately he didn't interpret my sole outline very well and both were a size too large. Then in an instance of pure luck a couple years ago, I was looking over the stash of a friend nearby, and there was a pair of them in the closet. They were made for his daughter and as luck would have it, they didn't fit her at all, and fit me perfectly. Karma I guess. Plain black leather shoes with a low heel. I have nailed on some TA cleats. Doesn't get much better than that.
