Hi Jack:
That looks very British to me, in a Woodrup / Holdsworth / Witcomb / Chas Roberts sort of way. Someone will probably recognize the serial number format, I think, but could it be from June 1980 (6/80) and be the 93rd frame that they made that year perhaps?
That blue paint may well be original, and it may be possible to get that cheapo yellow (carefully) removed to reveal it, perhaps?
