Greetings List: I am selling the following items on behalf of a fellow Listmember who left lovely Brooklyn, New York for the calming sun of Southern California. More to come shortly.
1) REYNOLDS "HIDUMINIUM ALLOY" BAILEY track handlebars. These are THE bars for your 30's or 40's American or British track iron. A ccording to Hillary Stone, "Reynolds made Hiduminium bars from 1935 and con tinued to make bars into the early 50s. The Bailey shape was a 1930s track shape also used on the road. W J Bailey was a top track cyclist of the peri od 1910-1930 - he became the manager at Saxon bicyles in the early 1930s. M ost Reynolds bars of this period are 7/8in in diameter and Reynolds made ma tching stems - a shim was used as standard." These bars measure 43cm/17" c enter to center. They are far from NOS, but would look great on a "rider" or might just be the missing link needed to get that project just "right".
